After its launch in July 2019, Gaming and Media News revolutionized the coverage of the gaming industry with an innovative proposal. The focus was put on operators; there was a decision to offer more interesting, in-depth interviews, as well as market reports. Besides, the company dedicated a sustained effort to promote content on social networks.
During the pandemic, the multiplatform was able to develop attractive audiovisual material, part of the ‘G&M Learning’ program, with the acclaimed ‘G&M Webinar Series’ (panels of experts in Spanish and English discussing topics of interest to the industry) and the ‘G&M 1on1’ cycle (personal and professional interviews in both languages with global gaming leaders).
Then, this hard work continued, with the appearance of new, exclusive sections which received huge feedback from readers. These are different and original spaces, such as ‘Experts of the Industry’, ‘Women of the Sector’, ‘Executive Hobby’ and ‘Five Marketing Keys’. Likewise, G&M News collaborated in the creation and dissemination of AFEM, the only current entity that unites female gaming executives in Latin America, which has just been renewed and renamed as ASFEG (Female’s Gaming Association). This group has more than 75 female executives from Mexico to Argentina, and organizes regular online and in-person meetings where training workshops are held, experiences are shared, and even employment opportunities are being published internally.
SUPPORTING THE PROGRESS OF GAMBLING COMPANIES
A little over a year after its creation, G&M News became the only media outlet in the gaming industry worldwide to simultaneously produce and offer original content in three languages: Spanish, English and Portuguese. The coverage, then, expanded to markets such as LatAm, the Caribbean and Spain (Spanish), the United States, Canada and Europe (English), Brazil and Portugal (Portuguese). In parallel, given its intense presence on the networks, G&M News achieved continuous leadership on LinkedIn among all the gaming media outlets in Ibero-America, the most used social network by members of the industry, where it already has over 10,600 followers.
As if this B2B work were not enough, the multiplatform closely followed the evolution of B2C verticals, such as Esports, virtual reality, poker, fantasy sports, video games and the Metaverse, with interviews, reports and other high-quality materials. Added to this was the decision to teach and promote affiliate programs established by different companies in LatAm. For this reason, the company launched the new exclusive affiliate site CevicheBet.com for all of Latin America.
BOOSTING NETWORKING AND BUSINESS
Last but not least, the company outlined a plan of events in different key markets, under the G&M Events brand. Since 2021, it has been organizing a series of exclusive boutique meetings, for no more than 150 executives, with the main focus on land-based and online gaming operators, in markets such as Mexico, Peru, Spain and the Southern Cone of LatAm.
Year after year, the number of participants in these unique gatherings grew, with events that include academic conversations and debates, round tables, business meetings and networking moments (Mexico, Spain and the Southern Cone), or in which tribute dinners are being held for the industry and its members (Peru and Brazil).
The next event will be on September 27-28th, 2023, at Casino Magic Neuquen, with more than 120 leading operators from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and other LatAm territories. Free registration is now open here for operators. For their part, providers have attractive sponsorship options, which they can learn about by contacting Sebastian Luna at [email protected].
This 4-years dedication was only made possible by the support of all the members of the gaming sector, both at corporate and individual levels: operators, suppliers, sponsors, associations, regulators and different organizations related to the industry. It would take too long to name each one of them, so the G&M News team thanks everyone who has contributed to the progress of our company.
There are many projects ahead that will be announced in time. With its usual commitment, G&M News will continue working towards the evolution of the gaming sector, spreading the values of responsible gaming, sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion in LatAm and the rest of the world.
