THE STRENGTH OF A GLOBAL BRAND
Codere is a leading international operator in the entertainment and gaming segments, with more than forty years of experience and presence in seven countries, including Spain, Italy, Argentina, Mexico, Panama, Colombia and Uruguay. The company operates gaming machines, bingo kiosks and sports betting terminals on an omnichannel basis, both online and in retail outlets including gaming halls, arcades, bars, betting shops and racetracks.
In Mexico, Codere started its operations in 1998 and has kept a leading position ever since. Its main activity is the management of gaming halls with machines and, in some cases, tables, bingo and sports betting, as well as online. It also manages the Hipodromo de las Americas in Mexico City. This presence can be summed up in numbers: 14,100 machines, 582 bingo stations, 425 betting terminals, 288 gaming tables, 76 gaming halls, 53 sports betting points, 1 racetrack and online activity.
ONLINE POSITIONING
The online vertical shows a very competitive Mexican gaming market. According to a recent exclusive report delivered to G&M News and prepared by Mario Benites Valdivieso, Outreach Specialist at Apuesta Legal Mexico, Codere is one of the main brands chosen by online bettors.
According to this report, since April 2024, Codere Online has become the second most popular iGaming site, ahead of Caliente, which came in third place. Meanwhile, Bet365 continues to lead the ranking.
In this regard, following Apuesta Legal’s data, Bet365 has a strong branding and interest also in Argentina and Brazil, but not in Colombia and Chile. As for Betano, it is an established brand in Brazil, with notable progress in Chile and minor evolution in Colombia and Argentina.
Regarding Codere Online, after Mexico, Colombia is the territory that shows the most interest in this brand based on Google Trends, followed by Argentina. Caliente and Betway are platforms with very little or no presence in the rest of the analyzed countries.
To conclude, Bet365 is the brand that attracts the most interest in Latin America, with strong growth in almost the entire region. Little by little, Betano is increasing its influence on the continent.
About Codere, and always sharing data from this study by Apuesta Legal, it is a brand already established in retail gaming and with important development in online gaming. In any case, it must continue to innovate and invest in Latin America in order not to lose ground to rising competitors.
Given this effervescent context of land-based and iGaming in Mexico, no one can miss attending the third edition of G&M Events Mexico. You can register here.
