The gaming industry is gearing up in full swing for the next G&M News event. The wonderful province of Neuquen (Argentina) has been chosen for this key meeting of Latin American gaming, and Casino Magic Neuquen will be the ideal place to receive more than 100 C-Level executives of the sector.
Operators from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and other LatAm territories can register free of charge here, while providers have attractive options for sponsorship. On September 27th and 28th, there will be panels and conferences with high-level experts, round tables to expand businesses, and valuable, entertaining moments for networking and recreation. One of them will be the FIFA 23 Tournament that G&M News is organizing (the final will be face-to-face, at Casino Magic Neuquen), to which operators can already sign up. There will also be delicious food and drinks as part of the diverse gastronomic offer presented by the complex in three spaces: Seasons Restaurant, Azar Resto Bar and Salon del Aire. To this will be added tango and bachata shows for the enjoyment of local and international attendees.
THE BEAUTY OF THE LANDSCAPE AND THE TASTE OF WINES
In order to complement this excellent meeting, on Friday, September 29th, G&M News will organize a visit to the Schroeder Family winery. With exceptional characteristics for the elaboration of unique and distinctive wines, the vineyard is located in San Patricio del Chañar, at 39º South Patagonian latitude, 53 km from the city of Neuquen, in a terroir delimited by the riverbed of the Neuquen river, which provides pure water, coming from the melting of The Andes, for the entire drip irrigation system.
The experience proposed by G&M News includes roundtrip transportation from the Hotel Casino Magic to the winery; a three-step pairing menu, and the option of a tour to this magnificent space, with a visit to the grape reception area, the tank area, the barrel room, the sparkling wine factory, the famous ‘Cava of the Dinosaur’, and the tasting of two top-of-the-range products. Undoubtedly, the experience invites you to enjoy with all five senses in one of the highest level gastronomic places in southern Argentina.
A SPECTACULAR WINERY IN THE HEART OF PATAGONIA
In 2001, Herman Heinz Teodoro Schroeder decided to invest in a plot of land with his sons. It was one of the southernmost wine regions in the world where, with effort, a desert was transformed into green and productive vineyards. The winery was built close to the fence (the slope of the valley), integrated into the natural landscape. The building, approximately 22 meters high, has five levels. In this way, the force of gravity is used in the winemaking process through a system that avoids, almost entirely, the use of pumps, reducing oxidative processes from the grape to the finished wine.
According to Roberto Schroeder, current owner and president, the winery has now 160 cultivated hectares. Although Schroeder started with two lines of wines, Saurus and Saurus Patagonia Select, and a sparkling wine, Saurus Patagonia Extra Brut, in recent years, new products have been added to his portfolio, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir (their specialty), Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. This company, which, in its beginnings, produced 70,000 liters per year, today exceeds one million, showing sustained growth year after year. The wines from this Patagonian winery are marketed in more than 20 countries around the world, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and the United States. Regarding the sparkling wine, the company has its own factory, oriented to the Charmat system, equipped with autoclave tanks and implements that must resist high pressures (isobarometric). The elaboration of sparkling wine is around a million bottles between the Deseado, Rosa de los Vientos, H. Schroeder and Schroeder brands, the top of the range. For sparkling wine bases, four varieties are used: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Torrontes Riojano and Malbec (occasionally, Sauvignon Blanc).
As a curiosity for visitors, when the winery was built, fossil remains of a 75-million-year-old herbivorous dinosaur were found. In the place where these fossil remains were discovered, a special cellar was constructed to keep them intact, in their natural state, and thus show them as they were found. In tribute to this, they named their first wines, while the company’s restaurant is called ‘Saurus’. The gastronomy is made based on fresh products from Patagonia, by Chef Ezequiel Gonzalez, who seeks to impress the most demanding palates. It is creative and top-level cuisine, in a warm and refined atmosphere, which offers an impressive view of the vineyards.
OTHER TOURISTIC OPTIONS
Executives who do not wish to travel to the winery will have the possibility, by the organization, of making a paleontological tour to Villa El Chocon. It is a town located in the north of extra-Andean Patagonia. The proposal offers three circuits: a) Energy Circuit; b) Circuit of the Villa, and c) Circuit of the Dinosaurs. The area also includes spectacular viewpoints and interesting museums.
Of course, those who want to explore more of this beautiful province will have a wide range of activities to do. On the one hand, there are the coastal walks along the banks of the Neuquen (northeast bank) and Limay (southeast bank) rivers, with the confluence of both forming the Rio Negro. This is a road of great natural beauty. Another must-see in Neuquen is the Route of the Seven Lakes, which connects the cities of San Martin de los Andes and Villa la Angostura through National Route 40. The walk allows you to enjoy the lakes Lacar, Machonico, Falkner, Villarino, Lago Escondido, Correntoso and Espejo. This route crosses part of two National Parks, the Lanin and the Nahuel Huapi, and takes the tourist to appreciate a landscape full of forests, hills and imposing mountain lakes, which represents one of the most extraordinary regions in Argentina.
