The ending of a year always moves to reflection and balance. In a general analysis, this difficult 2020 confirmed the gaming sector coming together at a global level, with all the companies taking care of their employees and customers, unions defending their associates and regulators fighting for legislation that favors the development of the activity in its different verticals.
Of course, Gaming and Media News was no stranger to this reality. Far from being discouraged by the quarantine, the impossibility of face-to-face meetings and sanitary complications, G&M News, in its young 18 months of life, saw in this context a great opportunity to continue promoting the online channel, responding to urgent communication and marketing needs of companies. Thus, the multiplatform continued to generate (with even more determination) interesting market reports, disseminating articles by Experts of the Industry, conducting in-depth and interesting written interviews in Spanish and English. Added to this excellent material was the display of audiovisual content from its ‘G&M Learning’ program. In this way, from April to December 2020, G&M News became the Spanish-speaking news site of the gaming industry that produced the most audiovisual content for online, with dozens of webinars and personal/professional interviews (part of the famous ‘G&M Webinar Series’ and ‘G&M 1on1’ cycles) that had a huge impact on the sector. All these initiatives were boosted by a tireless work of spreading those materials through all social networks, with articles from gaming companies that were read, enjoyed, discussed and shared among peers.
That is why, from G&M News, we want to thank all the executives of the gaming industry for having read our content and accompanied us during 2020. Of course, we send our special thanks to those who trusted in our innovative approach that has completely changed the way the sector was being covered and the type of content that was being created for the dissemination of global gaming information. So we are truly thankful to outstanding companies such as GLI, BtoBet, WorldMatch, Vibra Gaming, Mobius Interactive, LeoVegas, Royal Panda and LatamWin, as well as to their directors and staff. We also thank regulators and event organizers such as Coljuegos (Colombia), ALEA (Argentina), SiGMA Group and GAT Expo Gaming & Technology for their support and collaboration.
We do not want to forget to congratulate and thank our Experts, whose articles have helped us to learn a lot and be better professionals. During this time, prestigious specialists have written in our multiplatform, such as Francisco Vidal Caamaño (IQ Training and Management Services), Eduardo Morales Hermo (iGamingCo and Ficom Leisure), Andres Cilley (specialist in Policies for the Development of Gaming Markets), Egber Hernandez Diaz (Marketing and Sales specialist), Antonio Salord (Konek Solutions), Sheila Sotelo Farfan (Konek Solutions), Daniel Magariños (BMM Testlabs), Ramiro Atucha (Vibra Gaming), Evert Montero Cardenas (Fecoljuegos), Tracey Chernay (TransAct), Korbi Carrison (Reed Exhibitions, G2E), Hector Cupolo (Luckia), Luis Gama (consultant), Luis Ayestaran (consultant), Alexis Tello (Tellotech), Gricelda Ruibal (Play In Group), Matias Celis (Play In Group), Santiago Marin (consultant), Ingrid Alvarado Lopez (iGaming Colombia), Estefania Venegas (WorldMatch), John Connolly (Casino Surveillance and Security Society), Malcolm Rutherford (eConnect), Javier Giovanni Cañueto (Luckia), Jorge Armando Quintero (advisor), Carla Vicente (specialist in Gambling Law), Carlos Bustamante (consultant) and Gustavo Noyola (consultant), among many others.
Finally, we thank the executives who kindly participated and left their mark and their knowledge in our webinars and our 1on1 interviews, seen by thousands of international gaming members, with the invaluable collaboration of Laura Medina (Gamburo Gaming Solutions). In that sense, we will continue working with the same resolution and philosophy of the first day, fulfilling our inescapable commitment to create and disseminate original and interesting academic content from Latin America to the world.
