A working man, a visionary, a leader, a team player, an enthusiast, a famous DJ, a ski instructor, a fitness fan with tattoos that express his passion for gaming, all of these aspects of Martin Wachter’s personality (and more) are revealed in this amazing interview we are delighted to present to our global readers.
This Austrian top executive (currently living in Cyprus) participated in the ‘G&M 1on1’ series, where he analyzed past, present and future of his life and his company, Golden Race, the Virtual Sports & Betting Solutions provider he founded 15 years ago.
Very well known in the gaming industry, frequently invited as main speaker at various international events, in this video-meeting, he talks about the milestones of his company, the expansion to different regions, the evolution in the technology of the virtual sports vertical, and other relevant issues.
We share here a few excerpts of this interview:
ABOUT VIRTUAL SPORTS AND COVID-19
“Before COVID-19, we have already been in lots of markets with virtual sports in a strong way. For a betting company, virtual sports have always been the best additional vertical to sports betting because it is the closest product. We make sports as realistic as possible. In the first two weeks of quarantine, we signed 110 contracts. I think it’s a product any betting company should have on its platform.”
ABOUT LEADING THE TEAM
“I don’t expect my people to do something that I’m not willing to do. I want to lead by example. I’m so confident on my team: developers, designers, the sales steam. That’s why I consider Golden Race as a big family. We are stronger together.”
ABOUT SOLID PRESENCE IN EMERGING MARKETS
“Every market is important to me. We treat operators of all regions the same. We have amazing teams everywhere, such as in Latin America, with Julio (Cesar Duque) and Javier (Cicciomessere) doing a terrific job. It’s not a secret: there’s no company bigger than us in LatAm, in terms of virtuals. The same is for Africa. We will continue to grow there and in any market we are present.”
