Industry had a great inaugural day at ICE-SiGMA Asia Digital

The event was opened by a keynote from Andrea Domingo, Chairman & CEO of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

With a clear focus on the present and future of gaming in Asia, hundreds of executives from all over the world attended this online event organized by SiGMA Group and Clarion Gaming, which will take place up to June 10th.

After COVID-19 affected the realization of face-to-face shows, organizers of main global conferences of the gaming sector rapidly transformed those meetings into very attractive virtual seminars. In that sense, both Clarion Gaming and SiGMA Group have to be satisfied with the success of the first day of ICE-SiGMA Asia Digital.

At the beginning (in the very early morning here in Latin America), there was an interesting keynote from Andrea Domingo, Chairman & CEO of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), country’s gaming regulator. She talked about the state-of-play for gaming in the Asia-Pacific region, detailed how PAGCOR contributes to the national economy, anticipated that casinos in Philippines will reopen in late June or in July 2020, and introduced her vision on how the activity will grow in Asia over the next years.

Later, there were three consecutive, engaging panels: “Outlook for Asia Gaming in a Post-COVID-19 World”, “Regulatory Impact & Responses to COVID -19 Across the Asia-Pacific on the Gambling Sector” (part of International Masters of Gaming Law’s Masterclasses), and “The Marriage of Digital and Land-Based in the Future Asia-Pacific Model”. Speakers were Alidad Tash (2NT8 LTD), Kevin Clayton (CMO, Sanford C. Bernstein), Vitaly Umansky (Senior Research Analyst – Global Gaming, Sanford C. Bernstein), Jamie Nettleton (IMGL), Michael Sarquis (Department of Justice and Attorney-General from the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation, Australia), Ranjana Adhikari (Nishith Desai Associates), Lau Kok Keng (Raja & Tann Singapore), Harmen Brenninkmeijer (Dynamic Partners), Jonathan Pettemerides (Rank Group) and Wolfgang Bliem (Casino Luzern).

In parallel, executives could take advantage of the innovative approach of SiGMA Deep Tech Summit. As part of this segment, SiGMA founder and CEO Eman Pulis hosted a panel discussing the Philippines gambling market. He was joined by panelists Keith McDonnell (CEO,, Allen Yan (Managing Director, Spade 9), and Saxon Shadforth (Director, Avalon Marketing Services.)

According to Kate Chambers, Managing Director, Clarion Gaming: “The fundamentals around this event are focused on trying and giving those businesses on the operator and supplier side insight into what they need to be looking at and focusing on, to open up businesses again and how we move forward.” While SiGMA Group’s head, Eman Pulis, said: “In line with SiGMA Group’s commitment to facilitating new business opportunities for key players in the global iGaming and emerging tech sectors, the digital conference will embrace the difficulties we are facing at a time when working together has never been more important. We are having a series of panel discussions and keynotes from leading industry contributors. We want to bring together the community and shape the future as we adapt to a fast-changing global environment.”

ICE-SiGMA Asia Digital will continue up to Wednesday, June, 10th with more insightful panels and talks. Tomorrow, main issue in debate will be ‘Casinos, Integrated Resorts & Tourism of the Future.’ Besides these webinars, the platform allows executives to network with 2,200+ of industry peers.
