Mexico: Leonel Cota Montaño will head the Directorate of Games and Draws

Leonel Cota Montaño, new Mexican Director of Games and Draws.

Olga Sanchez Cordero, in charge of the Mexican Secretariat for Home Affairs (SEGOB), confirmed Leonel Cota Montaño to lead the national General Games and Draws (DJS) organization from March 2020, replacing Luis Calvo Reyes, an executive who held the position since July 2019, published Peninsular Digital (a web portal from Baja California, Mexico).

Cota Montaño -former governor of Baja California Sur- had been working in the Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System, an entity that was dissolved by President Andres Manuel López Obrador because it generated high costs for the State.

For her part, Sanchez Cordero highlighted the “vast experience” of Cota Montaño to establish a good functioning of the DJS. It should be remembered that, when he assumes, Cota Montaño will become the third official to occupy the position in just over a year, after Juan Gabriel Coutiño Gomez (January 2019) and the aforementioned Calvo Reyes (July 2019).
