After a slight surge in Coronavirus cases that led to the temporary closure of Malta’s nightlife scene by the Government, the SiGMA Group communicated its European global conference will now run from November 16th to 18th, 2021, held at the MFCC, Malta. The last date that was confirmed for this event was April 13th to 15th, 2021.
In a press conference, Maltese Prime Minister, Robert Abela, said nightclubs, bars, and restaurants of the country will be closed from March 5th until April 11th in an adequate measure to slow down the rising of COVID-19 cases. The leader also stated mass organized events would be on hold, but that the Government would continue to support businesses impacted by the measures. Nonetheless, Abela emphasized his confidence in the future, pointing out the current rollout of the anti-virus vaccine and reinforcing his commitment to continue working towards the country’s full recovery.
Quickly after this announcement, Eman Pulis, founder and CEO of the SiGMA Group, explained: “SiGMA in Malta was meant to happen this coming month in April, but with the new information that bars and restaurants will be closed until April, we were left with no choice but to push the show until November. We welcome this decision since we strongly believe in the safety of all our delegates. Of course, there’s no SiGMA without restaurants and bars. That’s where all the magic in business networking happens! I look forward to seeing you in November. Save the new dates. I’ll see you in Malta.”
In the run up to SiGMA Europe’s November show, the company has lined up a number of digital events under its Roadshow brand. The first stop in its global tour this year, Ukraine, attracted over 2,000 delegates and reflected the success SiGMA has found through its virtual meetings.
Regarding SiGMA Europe, it will embrace key verticals for the global gaming market through expert-led panels and keynotes, and provide a direct line to some of the top brands in the business through its buzzing expo floor. SiGMA will also run alongside the company’s AIBC brand, boosting crossover possibilities for the emerging tech and gaming sectors, and offering increased investment opportunities. The SiGMA Europe expo attracts delegates from over 80 countries, with the EU making up 63% of its guest list, followed by Asia and the Americas.
