After an extensive career in the sector (including more than a decade working at the operator Codere), three years ago, you decided to join renowned provider SIS. You started in the Betting area, and now are dedicated to Sales, always for LatAm and Spain. What is your balance and which goals were you able to achieve at the company so far?
I believe that the experience during those 12 years has been extremely important for me to take on this new challenge, as it has allowed me to have a much more strategic perspective of the market, both in Latin America and mainly in Spain. Today, we have been able to sign contracts with the most relevant Spanish operators and also with important companies in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, and Argentina. In this sense, we are increasingly having a brand positioning that we are looking to expand even more by 2023. Currently, it is worth mentioning that we have recently incorporated Oscar Murueta to SIS. He is Sales Executive for the LatAm market. Another of our objectives is to create a work team for LatAm that will allow us to cover all the needs of this exciting region.
You handle both the LatAm and Spain markets. What sales strategy do you have for each of them, considering differences and similarities? How can LatAm operators learn from their more experienced European peers about the evolution of iGaming platforms and the need to work with reliable providers?
One of the first aspects to consider in LatAm is the regulatory part, as it is a variable in each territory. Similarly, we know that there are countries that tend to have a higher volume of betting on Esports than on Horses and Greyhounds, for which the content is another element of reference. Finally, the volume of the market is an issue that makes us focus more on territories such as Brazil or Mexico.
As part of its attractive Competitive Gaming portfolio, SIS recently launched Esports content to wager on the popular CS:GO title. This product is added to the already successful Esoccer and Ebasketball. How does this solution work and how can operators and players take advantage of it?
The launch of our CS:GO game has been very important news as it allows us to offer one of the Top 3 Esports titles and have a broader proposal in our Competitive Gaming solution. One of the benefits for our customers is that they can add up to around 25,000 streaming games per year of this title, which are streamed 24/7.
Considering Esports fans and bettors are from a younger generation, more variable and hard to engage, which are the main challenges for operators in this sense and why SIS products are perfect tools to captivate these gamers and maintain their fidelity?
The main challenges of our product are the adaptation to new markets, as well as the differentiation and loyalty. Through our offer in terms of data and streaming with our own players, we seek to deliver a high-quality gaming experience. Nowadays, this type of player wants to have the most complete and entertaining interaction and a sense of immediacy when playing, so our Competitive Gaming product is prepared to satisfy these objectives at all times.
In just less than a month, SIS will be at a fair in Barcelona offering its Racing, Esports, Lotteries and Trading solutions. What are your expectations for that trade show?
During SBC Barcelona in Spain, we will be with our own stand L6 showing all the variety of our content. Besides, we will be looking to have an approach with our different business partners and stakeholders in order to know their needs in detail and respond with a tailored product. We look forward to seeing all of you there!
What future company projects can you anticipate to keep SIS at the forefront of technology and to take Esports betting to the next level?
For 2023, we will continue to focus on providing the highest possible quality in both products and services. We will also try to reach more different territories and add racetracks from all over the world, mainly from the United States. For LatAm, we are planning to launch more widely our entire Lotteries’ offer.
