The company has been steadily growing across various markets in Latin America and Europe. At the same time, it has been taking steps to promote social responsibility. How important is it to boost its sustainable commitment to consumers?
For BGaming, business growth and social responsibility go hand in hand. As we expand into new markets, we want to build strong partnerships, grow our portfolio, and make a positive contribution to local communities. We also understand that every market has its own needs. That’s why we approach CSR differently depending on where we operate. In Portugal, we focused on sustainability and environmental education. In Brazil, we’ve been working with the Centurion Association to help families, young people, and women. In Malta, we’ve spent the past two years supporting DAR Bjorn, an organization that provides care for people with severe neurological conditions. For me, what matters most is that BGaming focuses on projects with clear goals and measurable results. We want our initiatives to create real value for communities and have a lasting impact beyond individual campaigns.
Among other initiatives, there is the “WE CARE. WE ACT” program in Portugal, through which the firm incorporated recycled materials into its SBC Summit stand and merchandise, supported the local non-profit organization VIVA Lab, and participated in a team beach clean-up in Lisbon. Could you share some insights regarding this activity?
WE CARE. WE ACT was our first comprehensive sustainability project, combining our exhibition presence, environmental activities, charity, and team involvement. At SBC Summit Lisbon 2026, we rethought several aspects of our participation. We incorporated panels made from recycled materials into our stand design, introduced sustainable merchandise, and replaced traditional printed brochures with a single recyclable QR-code card, saving around 16 kg of paper. Our custom poker sets were made from 100% recycled plastic, while the merch carabiners were produced using 7 kg of the same material. We also wanted to take the project beyond the exhibition floor. After the summit, BGaming’s team joined a beach clean-up organized by the Lisbon Oceanarium, collecting 3 kg of waste. Another meaningful decision was to redirect part of our client gift budget to VIVA Lab, a local organization focused on sustainability and education. We donated €15,000 on behalf of BGaming’s partners to fund ten educational workshops for up to 240 students, with around 60–70 kg of plastic expected to be recycled. I’m really happy with how this project turned out and how it brought our team and partners together for a shared cause.
Furthermore, another significant initiative involved joining “Fight Like a Woman”, a charity project by the Centurion Association, launched in São Paulo, Brazil, as part of ‘Pink October’, with financial support from BGaming. What did these workshops, designed to help young women, entail?
‘Fight Like a Woman’ is a social initiative launched by the Centurion Association in São Paulo in October 2026, with financial support from BGaming. The project focuses on women’s safety and empowerment, particularly in communities where access to legal and psychological assistance is limited. The program covers three main areas. First, legal education, helping women understand their rights, available protection measures, and how to report violence or harassment. Second, psychological support, with workshops focused on recognizing abusive behavior and setting personal boundaries. Third, personal safety, including risk awareness and basic self-defense skills. The goal is to reach around 600 women during the first month. I believe these are valuable skills that can make a real difference in everyday life. This project is also part of BGaming’s ongoing partnership with the Centurion Association. We’ve previously provided essential supplies to 150 families and contributed to youth development programs. It’s great to see this collaboration growing and reaching more people who need support.
How has BGaming managed to make CSR an essential part of its daily operations? Why do you believe this example should be emulated by other providers and operators within the industry?
For me, making CSR part of our company culture means getting people involved. We encourage BGaming’s employees, partners, and local nonprofit organizations to participate in projects where we can make a meaningful contribution together. A good example is our annual BGaming Charity Gala in Malta, which we’ve organized for two consecutive years in support of DAR Bjorn, an organization helping people with severe neurological conditions. In 2025, the event raised €200,000, and we achieved the same result in 2026. That’s €400,000 collected across two events, thanks to the support of the iGaming community, our business partners, and everyone who took part. I think initiatives like this show what we can achieve when companies come together around a shared goal. Of course, every business has its own resources and opportunities. I believe even small, regular contributions can have a positive impact. What matters is staying involved, building relationships with the right organizations, and making social responsibility part of how the company operates.
The company has fully integrated CSR into its core strategy to “focus on projects that can deliver long-term, tangible impact and create something meaningful” for various communities. How will this approach evolve in the future, and what other initiatives does BGaming have in mind?
Our priority is to keep developing long-term partnerships with local nonprofit organizations and build on the projects we’ve already started. For example, in Brazil, BGaming’s collaboration with the Centurion Association began with a three-month program, and this October, we expanded our support to two additional projects, including Fight Like a Woman. In Portugal, we’re supporting VIVA Lab’s educational activities, and I’m particularly interested in their potential to reach more communities. The organization is developing an educational manual that could help other groups run similar workshops across Europe. In Malta, our Charity Gala has already become an annual initiative, and we’d love to continue building on its success. Looking ahead, we’ll keep exploring opportunities to support local projects in the markets where BGaming operates. We also want to introduce more sustainable solutions into our own business processes, including how we organize and participate in industry events. Ultimately, I believe the real value of CSR comes from consistency and the impact we leave behind. That’s the approach we want to maintain as BGaming grows.
