Last week, FBM Foundation brought happiness and love to children from the Child Haus in Manila, Philippines. Child Haus is a temporary shelter for patients from different provinces who face cancer or other health problems and have no place to stay in Metro Manila while undergoing medical evaluation or treatment. The institution provides free rooms and nutrition for its residents and is open for children, teenagers or adults struggling with diseases that don’t receive treatment.
A DAY FULL OF JOY AND SHARING
The activity prepared by FBM Foundation has a motto: Success is best when it is shared. The volunteers arrived early at the Child Haus activity area and started a two-hour long and memorable Christmas for the cancer patients of the institution. This program included a lot of music, with a Christmas dance choreography displayed by the volunteers and a singing performance delivered by the beneficiaries and staff of Child Haus that raised everyone’s spirits. During the event, there was also time for patients to give away Christmas Love cards.
Besides the happiness felt during the activities, FBM Foundation volunteers distributed Christmas food packs (including spaghetti ingredients, cheese, all-purpose cream, condensed milk, fruit cocktails and traditional Christmas ham) among the Child Haus patients, as well as essential good packs (all containing six kilos of rice, canned goods, chocolate drink, milk, quaker oats and hygiene kits with toothpaste, shampoo and soap).
The nutritional aid provided by FBM Foundation also contemplated daily meals served by Child Haus to its patients. That’s why volunteers also delivered sacks of 25 kilos of rice, gallons of cooking oil, 19 liters of vinegar, 19 liters res of soy sauce, fish sauce, ketchup, Nescafe, creamer and sugar. For the kids facing cancer, the foundation also distributed pediasure milk. To help Child Haus keep the facilities clean and safe for the patients, FBM Foundation’s donations also included cleaning equipment: six liters of dishwashing liquid, 20 scrub sponges, baygon multi-insect killers, detergent anti-bacterial powder, ethyl alcohol and Lysol disinfectant.
Vitor Francisco, Director of FBM Foundation, expresses his pride and fulfillment with this solidarity action. “This initiative raised FBM’s Christmas spirit to a superior level. It was incredible to see the atmosphere created at the Child Haus during the event and so many smiles on the faces of these brave human beings. We hope this gesture can have a real impact and improve the well-being of these kids, teenagers and adults,” he stated.
