How relevant is for Atlas-IAC to be participating at G&M Events European Summit, and sharing your company’s products with European and LatAm operators?
This summit is very important for Atlas-IAC. Although we have a strong presence in very competitive LatAm countries with 45+ operators, we believe that having a footprint in Spain and Portugal is both easier, as the competition there couldn’t compare with the one in LatAm and Brazil. At the same time, it is more challenging too, since you need to strictly comply with local regulations to fit in perfectly. After all, it’s not about making profit, but rather about building a reputation, and just like LatAm, Spain and Portugal are in our focus in Europe.
You will be part of a panel about the advancement of new technologies and how they are going to build the future of the iGaming sector. In which way you think AI powered solutions will transform the industry?
To answer this question, I want to tell you a story on how the idea of creating Atlas was born. It was at an expo in Berlin. Together with me, one of the speakers was a VP of Virgin Galactic, veteran of airspace industry. When we had a tea break after the panel, he spoke to us. “Guys, I’m not from your industry, but the way I see it, you repeat the path of airspace industry years ago. Decades ago, people believed that they could build the best aircrafts from wood and glue, but then technology came in and only those who invested in leading technologies survived.” The same rule applies to our industry. Actually, that’s what I can clearly see right now. Going back to AI solutions that would transform the industry, I can mention the following:
a) Personalized interfaces for each customer in Casino and Sportsbook. Nowadays, B2B providers are striving to offer an interface THEY like instead of letting CUSTOMERS choose the one that fits them. Dodgy, isn’t it?
b) Risk management functionality. Now, we can observe a lot of companies limiting their offer just because there are groups of professional players who are able to abuse rules and regulations. As a consequence of that minor percentage, the industry presents a very limited offering.
c) Marketing. We see that offers are designed to fit the most mainstream demands. However, to gain success, the real approach is to collect as much data as possible, and bring each customer individual offers and interfaces to fit personal needs
d) Trading. That’s how it’s going to be, though no one has achieved it yet. The industry is currently operating by copying the main markets from Asia, while the rest of the offer is based on probability distributions such as Poisson/Gauss. In order to grow, they should use statistical models based on years of operations. It is similar to the use of statistical models for the game of Go, which has beaten all existing mathematical models.
Your company has both presence in Europe and LatAm. How do you think a fruitful exchange can take place between both markets, in terms of technology, knowledge and consumers?
In my personal opinion, LatAm reminds me of a Wild West’s story, a non-regulated space with no limits, where you beat competitors only if you offer better service and LTV. In Europe, you can surpass your competitors if you have enough patience to fulfill all requirements that are demanded by a regulator, build all the regulatory-required functionality and work with much lower odds, under very strict legislation. The perfect combination would be to have a strong IT by getting the best experience out of strong product-based LatAm and implement it in highly-regulated European continent, fulfilling its local requirements.
Customization, automation, integration, expansion are empty words until you see them all applied in a robust turnkey solution such as the one offered by Atlas-IAC. How operators can leverage the unique advantages of your company’s products, in a seamless API, to fully increase their business performance?
Being in industry since 2003, I’m focused on practice. We know that, for operators, only results matter. The best operator is the one who makes millions and grows each month. That’s why we offer not just technology, but a 24/7 sportsbook management, technical support and operations. Moreover, I am present in each tech chat, to ensure that what I promise to operators is exactly what they get. Only when it becomes personal, when they deal with a human, and not with a mysterious company, is when you can achieve success. Now, there are many B2B operators, but only a few treat their partners personally the way they should be treated. That’s the path to follow, to do things properly and advance in this competitive sector.
