Gaming industry in Brazil is advancing in sectors like lottery, bingo, sports betting and iGaming. In that sense, software provider Spinola Gaming (https://www.spinolagaming.com/) is anticipating new partnerships with lottery operators of that South American country, based on a strategy of solidifying its position in the market. The company plans to offer its LatAm focused solutions: Lottery Management System, Global/Custom Lotteries, Instant Games and Digital Scratch Cards. This move came at the end of 2020, with lots of excitement coming from new regulations and the Brazilian lottery market opening its doors to new providers.
Manuel Santos, Business Development Manager, focusing on efforts in LatAm, at Spinola Gaming, stated: “Brazil continues to be one country that has great, but unrealized capacity in multiple sectors, one being online gambling. In comparison, Colombia’s state lotteries have grown to become the main player in LatAm gaming, with 15 different regional lotteries currently in operation. However, Brazil has the potential to top Colombia and gain the status of Latin America’s most powerful country regarding iGaming. Our new partnerships with Brazilian lottery operators give our company the right roots to grow in Brazil as it reaches the next stage in the market.”
Spinola Gaming envisions the LatAm market to grow exponentially over the next 3 to 5 years, with studies suggesting that once Brazil has become a regulated market, it should occupy third place in the global gaming industry. Regulators in Brazil have removed the country-wide lottery monopoly, and regulations for Law No. 13,756/2018 (which legalized fixed odds sports betting as a form of lottery) are expected to be released by mid-2021. The draft decree also depicted “concession” (and no longer “authorization”) as the business model to be adopted by the Federal Government, giving Brazilian states authorization to exploit their own lotteries.
