What has been the performance of GiG sales in Europe and LatAm in the last quarters considering the context of the Coronavirus?
COVID-19 has surprised us all, changing our original plans. However, we have managed to establish new relationships in LatAm to achieve great results this year. In fact, we are exceeding our goals globally. In Europe, we have had a strong presence for a long time. Last month, we signed with three new clients in Germany, Ireland and Hungary. As for Latin America, it is an emerging market with great growth potential. We consider it a priority.
How much do you think iGaming boosted as a recreational activity during the quarantine, with people staying at their homes?
Wanting to guess or control the future has always been something exciting for Humanity. Now, with the advancement of technology, we have a lot of tools. It is clear that, due to the quarantine, people had much more free time. Thus, online gambling activity augmented enormously, while user knowledge and fun increased.
What are the advantages and benefits for operators of the company’s omnichannel platform compared to the ones of its competitors?
There are groups of casinos, sports betting sites or mutual funds that can greatly benefit from our omnichannel platform, and our API logic and automation engine, GiG Logic. These cutting-edge technological solutions help our clients to optimize their physical and digital sports betting, casino and lottery activities.
Why do you think that, as you recently argued: “In 2021, Latin America will be the center of attention for all online gaming companies”? Do you believe that iGaming regulatory processes in Brazil, Peru and some territories of Argentina will advance and be implemented? Was that a reason for GiG to sign a recent agreement with Grupo Slots of the San Luis province (Argentina)?
At a demographic level, but also at technological and digital stages, LatAm is the new ‘Eldorado of iGaming.’ Furthermore, the passion Latin Americans express for sports is a success feature for operators. I see that Peru and Brazil took important steps to accelerate the regulation of online gambling, as Mexico and Colombia did, and, more recently, Argentina. We are very proud to start working together with Grupo Slots, true pioneers in the industry.
What will be GIG’s main future challenges to help improve user experience and increase business for operators?
Each year, we invest millions of euros in the development of our platform to improve our services based on customer feedback. Moreover, we will announce very soon the Version 2 of our ‘machine learning’ system, which generates a lot of excitement. One of GiG’s greatest strengths is to better understand the needs of operators, because, in the beginning, we were operators ourselves. Back then, we couldn’t find a platform that met our needs, so we created one of our own. And boy was it successful!
